Are you ready to elevate your leadership skills? Are you an employer looking to support your staff in their professional development?

This 6-session leadership foundation class series will feature leadership topics that are relevant in today’s workplace and will include a supplemental roundtable discussion for each topic. Participants are expected to attend all classes and roundtable discussions and will receive a certificate of completion if they attend 5 or more sessions.

Topic 1:  Future-Ready Teams: Talent Management and Succession Strategies
Facilitated by Robin Hall, SPHR with Mariposa Training and HR Consulting, LLC

Part One: Thursday, January 30 | 11 a.m.* – 1:30 pm, Location: Wor-Wic Community College, Fulton Owen Hall Room 200; Lunch will be provided.

Part Two: Tuesday, February 4 | 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 pm, Location: To Be Determined; Lunch will be provided

These sessions will cover:

  • Define talent management and succession planning and explain their significance in organizational success.
  • Assess and identify high-potential employees using talent assessment tools, including the 9-box grid.
  • Develop a succession plan that addresses both short-term and long-term organizational needs.
  • Apply sample succession planning questions to real-world scenarios to identify and prepare future leaders.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of talent management practices using key metrics.
  • Integrate diversity and inclusion considerations into talent management and succession planning strategies.

About the Facilitator

Robin Hall

Instructor Robin Hall, SPHR has many years of human resources experience which has made her an invaluable asset to the organizations she has assisted. Her ability to align HR initiatives with overall business growth and strategy has been instrumental in driving success. Throughout her career, Robin has predominantly worked in the high-tech industries, including international settings. This exposure has allowed her to develop a keen understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that come with leading in a rapidly evolving landscape. Her passion for leadership development is evident in the impactful programs she has implemented to nurture and empower employees at all levels. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Robin is known for her dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Topic  2: Neuroscience-Based Strategies for Leading Teams through Change

  • Discover how the neuroscience of stress impacts teams during transitions and organizational change
  • Learn tangible strategies to manage your own stress, respond effectively to varying stress styles of team members
  • Learn how to lead productive teams in high-pressure environments

About the Facilitator

Dr. Jennifer Douglas, PhD brings more than twenty years of experience in higher education leadership, working extensively with product development, quality assurance, strategic initiatives, and professional development for business executives, faculty, and staff. Her mission is to empower leaders for peak performance and business growth. She combines her leadership experience with several advanced holistic health certifications to offer coaching and consulting programs that blend leadership with mind-body wellness. She owns a holistic coaching practice, Being Human, LLC, based in Salisbury, MD

 

 

 

Topic 3: Understanding and Leveraging our Differences through Personality Dimensions

Part Two: Tuesday, March 4 | 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 pm, Location: To Be Determined; Lunch will be provided

 These sessions will cover:

  • Enhance Self-Awareness: Understand your own personality style and how it influences your behavior, communication, and decision-making.
  • Foster Better Team Dynamics: Learn to recognize and appreciate the personality styles of others to improve collaboration and reduce conflict.
  • Strengthen Communication Skills: Develop strategies to adapt your communication approach based on different personality styles for more effective interactions.
  • Apply Insights in Real-World Scenarios: Utilize Personality Dimensions principles to navigate workplace challenges, build stronger relationships, and foster a positive organizational culture.

About the Facilitator

TMP Instructor Hannah Patey, is an accomplished Senior Manager of Talent Development and Early Talent Programs at Mountaire Farms, the fourth-largest poultry producer in the United States. Her career at Mountaire began in 2016 as a Management Trainee, and through her dedication and passion, she has steadily advanced, holding roles such as Feed Ingredient Buyer, Talent Acquisition Specialist, Early Talent Programs Manager, and now Senior Manager of Talent Development and Early Talent Programs. Hannah’s professional journey exemplifies the power of taking bold steps and exploring new opportunities.
