This session explores the impact effective feedback has on employee performance. Understanding the WHEN, WHY, and HOW to give feedback drives higher levels of engagement and delivers improved business results. Participants review common feedback mistakes and practice giving feedback using the Z Feedback Model.

Speaker Information: Richard Dean is the Sr. Manager of Learning and Development in Perdue Farms’ L&D Department. He is responsible for providing training programs for hourly and salaried associates companywide.
Richard has held director level positions in human resources and organizational development across various industries throughout his career, including consulting, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing and food processing. Richard spent fourteen years with Smithfield Foods as Corporate Director, HR and Training and Complex HR Director for one of their largest processing facilities. During his tenure with Smithfield, Richard was responsible for creating front-line and senior leadership development programs and led various employee engagement programs to include recognition and rewards, and the employee survey process.
He earned his master’s degree in human resource development/Organizational Learning from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Radford University. Richard is certified to facilitate The Birkman, Meyers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), AchieveGlobal Leadership, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (and Teens), and Civil Treatment for Leaders. He has particular interest in transformational learning processes that support individual and organizational change.
